Governing Body
As a school, Walton Lane Nursery School must have a governing body. It has 3 functions
- To ensure there is a clear vision, ethos and strategic direction for the school.
- To hold the headteacher to account for the educational performance of the school and the nursery school children, and the performance management of school staff.
- To oversee the financial performance of the school and make sure its money is well spent.
We have 10 governors on the governing body
- 1 headteacher
- 2 parent governors
- 1 local authority governor
- 1 staff governor
- 5 co-opted governors
Governors are volunteers who bring a variety of skills and expertise to their role such as knowledge of our local community, financial skills or being a parent! All governors share a commitment to the value of maintained nursery school education and wanting our school to keep on developing.
